from the pig’s gastrointestinal tract could be in form of end-products of bacterial activity<br />

when the animals were given Jerusalem artichokes, due to the fact that fructose polymers<br />

in the tubers can not be hydrolyzed by mammal enzymes (Graham and Amman 1986).<br />
