3. Align the Crescendo card directly over the<br />
Processor Card Slot on the logic board<br />
(Figure 7). Gently press down until the card is<br />
firmly seated in the Processor Card Slot, taking<br />
care not to move or wiggle the board as you<br />
install it into the slot.<br />
Close Computer<br />
1. Replace the case cover and security screw onto<br />
your computer (Figure 8).<br />
2. Return the computer to your computing area<br />
and reconnect the power and peripheral cables<br />
to the computer.<br />

3. Affix the Powered by <strong>Sonnet</strong> label to the front of<br />
your computer.<br />
Turn On Computer<br />
1. Turn on your PowerWave. Your accelerated<br />
machine should boot normally.<br />

2. Due to resetting the CUDA switch, some<br />
Mac OS preference files have been reset to their<br />
default settings. You will need to reset the<br />
Date & Time control panel as well as your<br />
preference settings for the Mouse and Keyboard<br />
control panels.<br />

Chapter 10, “Upgrading to Mac OS 9.x and a<br />
G4” for information about enabling AltiVec<br />
extensions in Mac OS and application software.<br />
Support Note: Your computer must be<br />
upgraded with a G4 processor in order to<br />
take advantage of AltiVec-enhanced applications<br />
