Die vom Bauhaus Luftfahrt betrachtete technische Nutzung von Elektrizität
zur Kraftstoffproduktion sieht drei verschiedene Reaktionsschritte vor:
Zuerst wird Wasserstoff (H 2
) durch die Elektrolyse von Wasser (H 2
O) gewonnen.
„CH 2
“ ausgedrückt werden. Daraus kann durch konventionelle Raffination auch
Kerosin gewonnen werden.
Bauhaus Luftfahrt considered a technical utilisation of electricity for fuel production
which would consist of three reaction steps: Electrolysis of water (H 2
O)
represents the first step. The formed hydrogen (H 2
) is then reacted with carbon
dioxide (CO 2
) in a so-called water-gas shift reaction, resulting in carbon monoxide
(CO). A mixture of H 2
and CO, often referred to as synthesis gas, is subsequently
converted to a blend of hydrocarbon compounds, generally expressed as “CH 2
”
here, in a Fischer-Tropsch process. The yielded hydrocarbon compounds can be
processed into jet fuel and other fuels through conventional refining techniques.
