Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
„Technologische Innovation ist bekanntermaßen ein riskantes
und hart umkämpftes Geschäft”, schreibt F. P. Boer, Autor
von „Technology Valuation Solutions”, und ergänzt, dass die
Schaffung von Wohlstand durch technologische Innovation eines
der wichtigsten wirtschaftlichen Phänomene der modernen
Welt ist. Offensichtlich haben führende Innovatoren einzigartige
Navigationsfähigkeiten für dieses riskante Umfeld.
Die Aufgabe des Teams „Zukunftstechnologien, Ökologie
der Luftfahrt und Wissensmanagement” ist es, ergänzende Orientierungshilfen
für die ferne Zukunft der Luftfahrt und Mobilität
insgesamt zu liefern, indem zukünftige Innovationspotenziale,
Zukunftstechnologien, nachhaltige Lösungen und wissensba
sierte Prozesse identifiziert werden.
Unser einzigartiger Ansatz ist, neben der nötigen Kompetenzvielfalt,
der vorrangige Nachweis jener Potenziale, die eine
vielversprechende Richtung vorgeben – damit anschließend die
beste Vorgehensweise für die Erschließung dieses Potenzials
verfolgt werden kann. Zum Beispiel sind wir in der Forschung an
solaren Flugkraftstoffen mit wissenschaftlicher Gründlichkeit
und außerhalb der traditionellen Luftfahrtforschung unterwegs
und haben dabei ein akademisch-industrielles Netzwerk von
Weltrang gewonnen.
In diesem Jahrbuch finden Sie Fortschritte in Energie-,
Material- und Informationstechnologien wie die Analyse von
Innovationspotenzialen von Kommunikationstechnologien. Als
etablierte Forschungseinrichtung arbeiten wir weiterhin an der
Entwicklung unserer speziellen Fähigkeiten zur Navigation mit
Weitsicht in diesem riskanten und umkämpften Terrain der
technologischen Innovation.

“Technological innovation is a notoriously risky and competitive
business”, writes F. P. Boer, author of “Technology Valuation
Solutions”, and adds that creation of wealth through technological
innovation is one of the most important economic
phenomena of the modern world. Obviously, innovation leaders
have unique skills in navigating this risky territory.
The task of the team “Future Technologies, Ecology of
Aviation and Knowledge Management” is to provide complementary
navigation skills on a long-term scale by identifying
future innovation potentials, future technologies, sustainability
solutions and knowledge-based processes for aviation and
mobility as a whole.
The uniqueness of our approach, besides the combination
of diverse competences, is that we establish those potentials
that show a promising direction – for later resource allocation
to find promising ways how to exploit this potential. For
example, in solar aviation fuels research we identified those
innovation potentials with scientific scrutiny and capabilities
from outside the field of aviation, and attracted a world-class
academic and industrial network in the process.
As you browse this yearbook for recent advances you will
also find new insights in the future of energy, materials and
information technologies, such as the analysis of innovation
potentials for communication technologies. As a well-established
research entity we further develop our unique strengths
in our special role as navigators with a far-sighted vision in the
risky and competitive terrain of technological innovation.
