Internationalen Videokunstpreis des Südwest-<br />
funks und des ZKM und erhielt den 2. Preis<br />
beim Prix Ars Electronica 1998.<br />
Bernd Lintermann arbeitet als Künstler und<br />
Wissenschaftler im Bereich Echtzeit-Computer-<br />
grafik mit einem besonderen Schwerpunkt auf<br />
interaktiven und generativen Systemen. Die<br />
Ergebnisse seiner Arbeit werden im wissen-<br />
schaftlichen, künstlerischen und kommerziel-<br />
len Kontext angewendet. Seine Arbeit umfasst<br />
Bilder, Interaktive Installationen und Projekti-<br />
onsumgebungen. Seine Arbeiten wurden welt-<br />
weit in Museen und Festivals ausgestellt, wie<br />
dem ICC InterCommunication Center in Tokio,<br />
dem Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, dem<br />
ZKM, sowie im Rahmen der ISEA, des Ars<br />
Electronica Festivals und des DEAF-Festivals.<br />
Er arbeitete mit international renommierten<br />
Künstlern wie Bill Viola, Peter Weibel und Jef-<br />
frey Shaw, und schuf Werke <strong>für</strong> das CAVE-<br />
Environment, <strong>für</strong> kuppelförmige und panora-<br />
mische Projektionsumgebungen. Er veröffent-<br />
lichte zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Ausätze,<br />
u.a. im Rahmen der SIGGRAPH und ist Mit-<br />
gründer der Firma greenworks, die seine Soft-<br />
ware Xfrog weiterentwickelt: eine Software<br />
zur prozeduralen Modellierung und Animation<br />
von organischen Objekten, welche beispiels-<br />
weise von Firmen der Unterhaltungsindustrie,<br />
wie Electronic Arts, Lucas Digital und Digital<br />
Domain verwendet wird. Seit 2005 ist er Lei-<br />
ter des Institut <strong>für</strong> Bildmedien am ZKM.<br />

Bernd Lintermann works as an artist and researcher in the field of real-time computer graphics,<br />
with a particular focus on interactive and generative systems. The results of his work are ap-<br />
plied in academic, artistic, and commercial contexts. His work comprises imagery, interactive<br />
installations, and projection environments. It has been exhibited at museums and festivals all<br />
over the world - for example, at the ICC InterCommunication Center in Tokyo, the Louisiana Mu-<br />
seum of Modern Art, the ZKM as well as at the ISEA, the DEAF-Festival, and the Ars Electronica<br />
Festival. He has already worked together with internally renowned artists like Bill Viola, Peter<br />
Weibel, and Jeffrey Shaw, and created works for the CAVE-environment, for dome-shaped and<br />
panoramic projection environments. He has published numerous research papers, including as<br />
part of the SIGGRAPH, and is a co-founder of the company greenworks, which continues to de-<br />
velop his software Xfrog. Xfrog is software dedicated to the procedural modelling and animation<br />
of organic objects - used, for example, by companies in the entertainment industry like Elec-<br />
tronic Arts, Lucas Digital, and Digital Domain. Since 2005, he has served as the Director of the<br />
Institute for Visual Media at the ZKM.<br />
