Both courses are integrated courses – selected topics from the lesson course are treated more profoundly in
depth during the exercise tutorial by means of case studies. The lessons are conceptually designed for non-
jurists. Students are confronted with characteristic (specific) ways of thinking and working that mark jurists
out in order to enable them for their future lives to communicate with and evaluate them in their future
lives. Ideally the students develop a certain law culture that leads to a confident (emphasis on citation
style), successful and effective interaction with current legal literature (legal norms, legal practice, public
administrative jurisdiction).
Cyberlaw II is a consecutive course designed to profound the contents of Law of Information Society I (Cyberlaw
I). In Cyberlaw II the emphasis is shifted towards European, International and comparative legal prospects,
when the Convention on Cybercrime, gene data institutions, internet barrage and Cybermobbing are
studied. In addition, during this integrated course practical questions like f. e. the strategy of virtual restraining
orders or the blacklisting of competitors are worked on.
The course European Law follows the matrix: „Methodology, Dogmatics, Examinations of European Fundamental
Freedoms and Fundamental Rights and Multilevel Paradigm.” There is generally at least one current
module dealing with legal developments reported about in the media report. current legal decisions area
promptly presented and put up to discussion. (On Feb. 10, 2009 the Chair succeeded with a precision landing:

Die Studierenden sind nach den Veranstaltungen in der Lage,

• grundlegende europarechtliche Methodik und Dogmatik zu verstehen.
• aktuelle Entwicklungen des europäischen Mehrebenenmodells zu verstehen.
• komplexe rechtliche Fragestellungen aus dem Kanon modernen Informationsrechts auch auf europa- und
völkerrechtlicher Ebene zu analysieren und diskutieren.
Learning Outcomes:
After the courses the students are able to
• work confidently, appropriately (focus on citation rules), authentically, and up-to-date with legal literature
(legal norms, jurisdiction, administrative decisions).
• understand basic (European) legal method and dogmatics.
• understand current developments of the European multi-level model.
• analyzse and discuss legal questions of the entire spectrum of modern Informational Law also at European
and International level.
