This is indeed the goal of T44A38 ! It needs careful description of each system in a<br />
comparable way and simulations using a common framework.<br />
We have tried to bring some preliminary thinking in the comparison (in Ref. 3). But this was<br />
way too simple compared to what the Task is bo<strong>und</strong> to achieve with its resources and quality<br />
researchers.<br />
One way to describe each system that has been decided in 2011 is the so-called « square<br />
view » of a system. It is a fast way to <strong>und</strong>erstand any configuration.<br />

Conclusions: Task expectations<br />
� The combination of a heat pump and solar will represent a large market share in future<br />
decades. In some regions, systems are already installed in 80% of new homes !<br />
T44A38 will contribute to select best solutions mainly in terms of SPF and reliability.<br />
� The T44A38 pre normative work will produce materials to define a SCOP or SPF<br />
factor and to assess performances of combined systems. Such common international<br />
definition is currently lacking.<br />
� An IEA framework provides a unique opportunity to meet and share with the experts<br />
from universities and industries working on thermal solar and heat pumps to exchange<br />
new ideas and to test them.
