but in <strong>the</strong> type it is distinctly hairy. He gives <strong>the</strong> flowers as<br />

0*2 inch long. In Kloss's plant, where <strong>the</strong>y are fully open,<br />

<strong>the</strong>y are just twice as long, and nearh' glabrous, and <strong>the</strong> petals<br />

hardly as long as <strong>the</strong> an<strong>the</strong>rs. These differences are due, no<br />

doubt, to <strong>the</strong> young state <strong>of</strong> Wray's plant.<br />

Frutex ramis tenuibus. Folia ovata, acuminata, basibus<br />

cuneatis, superne glabra, 13 cm. longa, 7 cm. lata, stellatim<br />

lepidota et glandulis copiosis munita, subtus nervis prominulis<br />

3 ad basin connatis, petiolis 25 mm. longis. Cyme axillares vel<br />

subterminales, 3 cm. longae, pauciflorae. BractecB lineares, 3<br />

mm. l(jngae. Flares parvi, pedicellis 3 mm. longis. Calycis<br />

tubus sabglobosus, lobis brevibus ovatis 4. Petala 4, ovata vix<br />

longiora, glabra. Stamina 4 aequalia et similia, filamentis<br />

petala aequantibus, an<strong>the</strong>ris longioribus curvis acuminatis, basi<br />

processibiis 2 brevibus obtusis munita. Stylus breviusculus,<br />

basi stellato-pilosus.<br />

Distrib. Ulu Langat {C. B. Kloss).<br />

This species is very different in appearance from our<br />

common Blistns Cogniauxii, Stapf, both in habit and larger<br />

flowers, and more resembles an Anerincleistus, but <strong>the</strong> four<br />

similar and equal stamens distinguish it from that and allied<br />

genera.<br />
