102. Labisia pumila, var. lanceolata. A single specimen<br />

brought in by a Dyak from <strong>the</strong> banks <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Teku River.<br />

Distribution. Common all over <strong>the</strong> Peninsula.<br />

103. AkDISIA PETRICOLA, n. Sp.<br />

Shrub, branches slender, dark brown; young parts scurfy,<br />

ferruginous. Leaves elliptic-obtuse, shghtly narrowed to each<br />

end, coriaceous ; nerves numerous, primary nerves slender,<br />

horizontal, parallel, hardly distinguishable from <strong>the</strong> secondary<br />

nerves; leaf above smooth and nerves inconspicuous, beneath<br />

nerves visible and whole leaf densely dotted with minute<br />

glands, midrib elevated, red, scurfy, 3 inches long, ij inch<br />

wide ; petiole \ inch long, chanelled and winged to <strong>the</strong> base,<br />

red, scurfy. Panicle terminal, dense, 2 inches long, rachis red,<br />

scurfy ; branches 7 or 8, short, half an inch long, bearing cymes<br />

<strong>of</strong> 3 or 4 flowers. Bracts very small. Calyx 5-lobed ; lobes<br />

panicles as well), not pubescent;<br />

type, in woods on <strong>the</strong> Padang.<br />
