Common on rocks and trees on <strong>the</strong> Padang. 1 have <strong>the</strong><br />
same plant from Bukit Hitam in Selangor collected by<br />
Kelsall, and from Kluang Terbang in Pahang (with leaves<br />
a little longer and thinner) by Barnes. This might be but<br />
an alpine form niD. bifavium, to which I previously referred<br />

it ; but <strong>the</strong> leaves are only half as big as in that species, as<br />
are <strong>the</strong> very small flowers, and <strong>the</strong> colouring is different.<br />
178. Dendrobium sinuatum, var. An elongate form,<br />
bigger than usual. On <strong>the</strong> Padang, not common. A similar<br />
plant was obtained in Kluang Terbang by Barnes. It is a<br />
foot long, with leaves i inch long and \ inch wide.<br />

abundant on mossy trees from below <strong>the</strong> Gully to <strong>the</strong> Padang.<br />

It seems to prefer <strong>the</strong> cold, damp, and dark woods, draped in<br />
moss.<br />

on <strong>the</strong> stems <strong>of</strong> trees in <strong>the</strong> woods by <strong>the</strong> streams on <strong>the</strong><br />
Padang and by <strong>the</strong> Teku.<br />
Distribution. Kluang Terbang, Perak Hills, Kedah Peak,<br />
and Lankawi.<br />

Rhizome very long and slender; no pseudobulbs. Leaves<br />
half an inch apart, ovate, fleshy, rugose, reddish in colour,<br />

similar, but only half as long, paler. Lip oblong-ovate,<br />
obtuse, ra<strong>the</strong>r broad, as long as <strong>the</strong> petals, flattened, dull red<br />
with paler edges, and two low keels on <strong>the</strong> centre. Column<br />
whitish broad with broad, rounded, short stelidia.
