Mautik (bat). To germinate, to sprout,<br />

to spring from seed.<br />

Mantra (s). A spell, a charm, an incantation.<br />

Mantradak. Name <strong>of</strong> a <strong>Malay</strong> state on<br />

<strong>the</strong> south-western side <strong>of</strong> Borneo.<br />

Mantri (s). Counsellor, minister. Among<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Malay</strong>s it is applied to <strong>the</strong> highest<br />

class <strong>of</strong> public <strong>of</strong>ficers ; but in Java its<br />

original sense is degraded, <strong>and</strong> it is <strong>the</strong><br />

title <strong>of</strong> an inferior class.<br />

Mantu (JAV). Son or daughter-in-law.<br />

Mautiik (jAv). To return, to come back<br />

to retire.<br />

Manuk (jav). A bird, a fowl.<br />

Manuk-dewata (j <strong>and</strong> s). The bird <strong>of</strong><br />
