Trap. Name <strong>of</strong> a species <strong>of</strong> Artocarpus<br />

yielding a glutinous juice used as<br />

birdlime.<br />

Trap (jAv). Way, manner; rule, order,<br />

precept.<br />

Tras. The heart <strong>of</strong> timber ; <strong>the</strong> choice<br />

Tropong (j). A blow-pipe, used chiefly<br />

as a bellows for kindling a fire ; a<br />

telescope. The name <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> European<br />

instrument is obviously taken from <strong>the</strong><br />

rude native one. In Javanese <strong>the</strong><br />

primary meaning is not a blow-pipe,<br />

but a weaver's shuttle.<br />

Tropong-abu. Blow-pipe for kindling a<br />

fire ; literally '' ashes blow-pipe."<br />

Trubuk. Name <strong>of</strong> a fish, <strong>the</strong> cured roes<br />

<strong>of</strong> which are a large object <strong>of</strong> native<br />

trade. The chief seat <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fishery is<br />

<strong>the</strong> river <strong>of</strong> Siak on <strong>the</strong> north-eastern<br />

side <strong>of</strong> Sumatra, to which <strong>the</strong> fish<br />

resort for spawning.<br />

Ti-uk. The sound made by rending, tearing,<br />

or similar disruption.<br />

Trumbu. A dangerous hidden rock in<br />
