The Island Copper (Rupert Inlet) porphyry Cu-Mo-Au deposit (fig. 44) consists of pyriw, cbkxpynte aMt dybdanitp
which occur as fracture fillings and disseminations (E,MR Caoada, 1989; Perello and others, 19J)S; MINPILE, 2052). W main
part of the deposit, which occurs in a carapace which sursormds a quartz-feldspar p~phm dike; is tabtjk shapsd, rmgm 60
to 180 meters wide, 1700 meters long and 300 metas deep, and strikes 290' and drps 60%. parallel to* dike. Betwen 1971
and 1994, the mine at the deposit produced 345 mi&m tames wih rto average grade ofQ.41% Cu, O.Olm Mo, 0.q &rt Au, and
1.4 g/t Ag (MINFILE, 2002). The &potat contdmt add&md e&md resmts of 247 dbfm toan= grcading 0.52Y0 Cu and 0.22
g/t Au. The deposit is h& in mdesite and basalt Min the Middle Jumssic Bonanza Omup whieh are irrbntdsd by a quartz
feldspar porphyry dike.
