CLASTIC SEMMENTARY BASINS
(J. Jurassrc. K. Cretaceow T. Ternary)
Wrangellia superterme in the Southern Chdian CordiUem, and (7) around the Circum-North Pacific, continued sinstral
transpression between oceanic plats and contintnts.
'..
Specific Events for Early Cmhceofla '* .'
(1) Far to the south at about 32" palmlatitude, the Mainitskiy island arc (Mainitskiy terrane, MAI) commenced
Forming in the arc were the Tamvafney-Mainits (TAM) belt, which contains podifom Cr deposits, is hosted in wned maficultramafic
plutons, and the Mainits (MA) belt, which contains kuroko massive sulfide deposits. Tectonlcally rmlrcd to the arc was
the Alkatvaam accretionary-wedge terrane (AV) which formed horn subduction of part of the adjacent oceanic plate. This arc and : ? 4w
companion subduction zone migrated northward toward the Kony-Murgal island arc.
(2) The Umlekan arc (Umlekm-Ogodzhin volcanic-plutonic belt (uo) and associated units) continued activity. ~ssociated
with this belt was subduction of part of the Ancestral Pacific Ocean plate to form the Arnur (AM) and Badzhal (BD) temes.
(3) In the same region, the accretion of the Bureya (BU) superterrane against the Ulban accretionary-wedge terrane (UL)
was completed along the Mongol-Okhotsk suture (MO), thereby closing the Mongol-Okholk Ocean. Forming during accretion
was the Stanovoy (ST) metallogenic belt which contains anatectic, granitic-magmatism-related deposits, and the Selerndzha-Kerbi
