Policy Implications<br />
There are no relevant policy implications pertaining to this matter.<br />
Legislative Implications<br />
(2)Tenders do not have to be publicly invited according to the<br />
requirements <strong>of</strong> this Division if —<br />
(b)the supply <strong>of</strong> the goods or services is to be obtained<br />
through the Council Purchasing Service <strong>of</strong> WALGA;<br />
Financial Implications<br />
Funding for Council‘s advertising requirements has been allocated in the 2009/10 budget.<br />
Conclusion<br />
Maintaining an industry focus in Council‘s procurement <strong>of</strong> advertising services provides the<br />
most effective benefit to Council when considering price and marketing and industry<br />
exposure.<br />
Voting Requirements<br />

RECOMMENDATION<br />
That Council:<br />
Resolves to, in accordance with the provisions <strong>of</strong> Local Government (Functions and<br />
General) Regulations clause 11 (2) (b), to enter a contract with the Western<br />
Australian Local Government Association for the utilisation <strong>of</strong> the WALGA Local<br />
Government Advertising Contract for the period encompassing 1 July 2009 to 30<br />
June 2012.<br />
