Conclusion<br />
The proposal was identified within the Karratha Airport Master Plan, and is being promoted<br />
by Optus as resolving a capacity shortfall on their network within the Karratha Airport area.<br />
The area proposed is considered as being suitable for the proposed type <strong>of</strong> development,<br />
sitting in conjunction with the proposed use <strong>of</strong> car parking. The development will be subject<br />
to the relevant planning and building approvals process.<br />

Simple.<br />
RECOMMENDATION<br />
That Council:<br />
Approve the entering into a lease agreement with Optus for the lease <strong>of</strong> a partial<br />
area <strong>of</strong> land, at Lot 12, Karratha Airport, for the development <strong>of</strong> a mobile phone<br />
tower facility, for a period <strong>of</strong> 15 years, at an annual lease rate <strong>of</strong> $10,000 (exclusive<br />
<strong>of</strong> GST and variable outgoings) to be reviewed to CPI annually and to market 5yearly.<br />
