3. Review master plan and explore scope for extending town limits<br />
Krishnagiri town faces structural limitations for growth given that large parts of the town is<br />
already developed. This is also reflected in the decline in the population and relatively high<br />
population density in the central areas of town. During consultations with public stakeholders and<br />
council, there has been a strong demand for extension of the town‟s limits to facilitate orderly<br />
development. The land-use pattern in Krishnagiri also needs to be reviewed and updated in<br />
conjunction with the land-use of adjoining areas. This exercise is critical to enable an integrated<br />
approach to planning for the urban agglomeration growing in and around Krishnagiri and to<br />
facilitate an orderly growth of the same.<br />
