CEO mean scores were determined as noted in number one. The<br />

mean scores of each RVS value item were calculated for each of<br />

the quadrant variables listed in Table 1. A Pearson correlation<br />

coefficient was calculated to determine the direction, strength and<br />

value of the relationship between the three leadership style means<br />

and the two collectivist (instrumental and terminal) value mean<br />

scores.<br />

3. Transformational leadership style positively relates to gender with<br />

females being more transformational than males.<br />

The same MLQ rater scores (N-290) were used to define the<br />

transformational, transactional and passive-avoidant means for the<br />

CEOs collectively. An independent-sample T test and ANOVAs<br />

were performed to determine the difference between the genders<br />

relative to the three leadership styles and the nine profile and three<br />

outcome areas.<br />

4. Transformational leadership style positively relates to recent hours<br />

of leadership training.<br />

MLQ rater scores, as defined above, were correlated with<br />

leadership training using the Pearson correlation coefficient to<br />

determine direction and degree of significance. Additionally, the<br />

CEO's self-rated MLQ scores were compared to hours of<br />

leadership training using the Pearson correlation coefficient to
