to the original hypotheses, transformational leaders do not tend to be<br />

more collectivistic in their values and transactional leaders do not tend to<br />

be more individualistic in their values.<br />

Pearson's correlation coefficient was calculated to test the two<br />

hypotheses. The correlation was completed for the relationship between<br />

the subjects' values (11, IC, TI, and TC) and the leadership styles of the<br />

CEOs. No significant correlations were found between the instrumental<br />

and terminal values of collectivism and individualism and the leaders'<br />

styles (Table 13). Transformational, transactional, and passive-avoidant<br />

leadership styles were not significantly related to collectivist or individualist<br />

value scores. No significant differences were noted when performing the<br />

same analysis using the mean of the CEO clusters instead of the<br />

individual means of the respondents. Therefore, hypotheses 1 and 2 have<br />

not been supported.<br />
