ARTICLE 10<br />

HOLIDAYS<br />

Section 1. The following days shall be recognized as holidays:<br />

1. New Year's Day<br />

2. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday<br />

3. Presidents' Day<br />

4. Memorial Day<br />

5. Independence Day<br />

6. Labor Day<br />

7. Columbus Day<br />

8. Veterans' Day<br />

9. Thanksgiving Day<br />

10. Day after Thanksgiving<br />

11. Christmas Day<br />

Monday shall be recognized as a holiday for all holidays occurring on a Sunday, and Friday<br />

for all holidays occurring on a Saturday for those employees on a normal Monday through Friday<br />

work week. For other than these employees, the holiday shall be deemed to fall on the day on<br />

which the holiday occurs.<br />

Section 2. At Scotland School for Veterans’ Children and Thaddeus Stevens College of<br />

Technology, the following days shall be recognized as holidays:<br />

1. New Year's Day<br />

2. Memorial Day<br />

3. Independence Day<br />

4. Labor Day<br />

5. Thanksgiving Day<br />

6. Christmas Day<br />

The remaining five holidays shall be scheduled by the administration of these institutions<br />

during the time on the academic schedule when the institution is not at full operation.<br />

At Scranton State School for the Deaf and the 14 institutions of the State System of Higher<br />

Education, the following days shall be recognized as holidays:<br />

1. New Year's Day<br />

2. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday<br />

3. Memorial Day<br />

4. Independence Day<br />

5. Labor Day<br />

6. Thanksgiving Day<br />

7. Christmas Day<br />
