Hypotheses II: It is expected that in comparison to the healthy BMI group the over and<br />

underweight groups will have:<br />

a) Higher means regarding inflexibility<br />

b) Lower means regarding body image acceptance<br />

c) Higher means in relation to anxiety and depression<br />

Hypotheses III: These hypotheses focus on the variables <strong>of</strong> depression and anxiety in<br />

relation to inflexibility, body image acceptance and EDR.<br />

a) Inflexibility will be positively associated with depression and anxiety<br />

b) There will be a negative association between depression and anxiety in relation to<br />

body image acceptance<br />

c) Those in the high EDR group will have higher means <strong>of</strong> depression and anxiety<br />

than those in the low EDR group<br />

Additional research questions are as follows:<br />

1) Eating disorder history and mental illness history will be positively associated<br />

with inflexibility<br />

2) Drug and Alcohol use will be associated with higher levels <strong>of</strong> inflexibility<br />

3) Academic performance will be negatively associated with inflexibility<br />

4) There will be a mean difference between the EDR groups on eating disorder<br />

history and mental illness history<br />

5) There will be a mean difference between the EDR groups on drug and alcohol use<br />

6) There will be a mean difference between the EDR groups on bullying<br />

7) There will be a mean difference between the EDR groups on perfectionism<br />

8) Self-esteem will be positively associated with EDR<br />

9) BMI will be associated with EDR<br />
