The supervisor is not born with these<br />
skills but he must acquire them by actual<br />
practice individually.<br />
In these five 2-hour sessions, we will<br />
discuss the skill in instructing which<br />
we shall call <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Instruction</strong>.<br />
Thosewho successfully complete this pro-<br />
gram w ill receive a certificate of recog-<br />
nition from the War Manpower Commission.<br />
4. WHAT THIS IS ALL about:<br />
- "I am not here to tell you how to run your<br />
jobs; I don't necessarily know anything<br />
about your technical j obs . 'I<br />
- "1 am here to discuss one problem common<br />
to all-JOB INSTRUCTION. "<br />
- "I was on your side of the table a few<br />
weeks ago-was sold and am now enthusi-<br />
astic-have applied plan to my job-con-<br />
sider it REAL PRIVILEGE to have part in<br />
passing the plan on to others."<br />
- This is a WAR of PRODUCTION. The armed .<br />
forces must have fighting equipment-in<br />
overwhelmingquantitiestoachievevictory<br />
in the air, on the land and on the sea.<br />
5. There are three maj or groups to be trained:<br />
Millions of PRESENT EMPLOYEES must learn<br />
new or higher skills EVERY DAY, as a result<br />
of:<br />
- Engineering changes.<br />
- New machines.<br />
- New types of j obs.<br />
- New and higher inspection standards.<br />
