5.2 Removing, Cleaning,<br />

and Installing Replaceable<br />

Electrodes<br />

(General-Purpose<br />

Use Type Only)<br />

5.2.1 Removing Replaceable Electrodes<br />

(1) The following tools are required to replace the<br />

electrodes:<br />

• Special tool for removing and installing electrodes<br />

(F9807SK): Optional<br />

• Torque wrench or torque driver (nominal size 12)<br />

• Phillips screwdriver<br />

(4) Using end A of the tool, open the electrode cover.<br />

(5) Hold down the electrode lead wire and terminal<br />

lug and remove the mounting screw using the<br />

Phillips screwdriver.<br />

(2) Turn off the power to the flowmeter.<br />

(3) Drain the fluid from the interior of the flowtube.<br />

Electrode lead wire:<br />

Red: Electrode A<br />

White: Electrode B<br />

WARNING<br />

• Never fail to drain the fluid from the interior of<br />

the flowtube.<br />

• If the fluid is at a high temperature, the instrument<br />

itself may also be hot. Be careful not to<br />

get burned when removing the electrodes.<br />

• When the process fluid is hazardous to humans,<br />

exercise caution to avoid coming into<br />

contact with it, and avoid inhaling any residual<br />

gas.<br />

NOTE<br />

Always hold down the lead wire and terminal lug<br />

when removing the mounting screw.<br />
