Chapter 8, Removal
Removal for shaft fastening by tension bolt
1. Detach the cap (Figure 38/2) from the fan impeller shroud.
2. Detach the front end shield from the generator. For this purpose, unscrew the
four fastening screws (Figure 38/5) of the front end shield at the generator.
3. Hold the engine shaft using the special tool of the engine manufacturer.
4. Undo the tension bolt (Figure 38/1) and pull it out of the generator shaft.
5. Insert the pushing rod (Figure 38/3) into the generator shaft instead of the
tension bolt and then screw the pushing screw (Figure 38/4) into the
generator shaft. By screwing in the pushing screw, the generator shaft is
detached from the engine shaft.
6. Detach the generator from the engine.
7. Remove the pushing rod (Figure 38/3) and the pushing screw (Figure 38/4)
from the generator shaft. Remount the cap (Figure 38/2) onto the fan
impeller shroud.
8. Remove the front end shield (Figure 39/1) of the generator which is still
mounted to the engine. For this purpose, unscrew the four screws (Figure 39/
2) and detach the end shield.
9. Remount the front end shield to the generator.
