Grounding the neutral conductor of the generator (N, midpoint<br />

conductor) supersedes the protective measure "protection<br />

separation" <strong>and</strong> should therefore be avoided. If the neutral<br />

conductor N shall be grounded anyway, this may only be<br />

performed by an electrically qualified person. In this case, a<br />

current-operated earth-leakage circuit breaker has to be<br />

connected on the load side of the generator output. The<br />

efficiency of the electrical protective measure has to be<br />

confirmed by an appropriate measurement.<br />

5.3.2 Protection against overcurrent<br />

If the generator is equipped with a control box ex works, the sockets of the<br />

control box mounted on the generator are protected against overcurrent <strong>and</strong><br />

short-circuit conditions using automatic circuit breakers. See Figure 26.<br />
