Synchronous Generators BG 132 / BG 160
Chapter 4: 4.6 Installation of two-bearing generators (BG 132)
Minimum clearances (BG 132, twobearing
types)
The following minimum clearances towards
parts or walls have to be observed for
installation (see also the accompanying
figures on the right):
• Both sides and top: a = 100 mm
• Front side: b = 200 mm
• Rear side: c = 170 mm
Cooling (BG 132, two-bearing types)
It is absolutely important to observe the
following regulations for cooling. Danger
of overheating!
The temperature of the supplied cooling air
must not exceed 40 °C.
In the cooling air intake area on the rear
side of the generator a maximum partial
vacuum of P max = 4 Pa may arise.
Otherwise the fan impeller cannot suck
enough cooling air.
In the cooling air blow out area on the
front side of the generator a maximum
overpressure of P max = 7 Pa may arise.
Otherwise the circulation of the cooling air
is not sufficient.
Cooling air circulation must not be
impaired by other air flows (e.g.
directed from the side or from the front
to the generator).
