The <strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>College</strong> Family Care and Head Start Center offers<br />
quality early childhood care and education for children 2 years of age<br />
to 5 years of age. Parents must be currently enrolled in a minimum of<br />
3 credits at <strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
The program follows the <strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>College</strong> calendar. A minimum daily<br />
attendance of 3 hours is required.<br />
The center also collaborates with a local early childhood agency,<br />
Southwest Human Development, to offer Head Start services for<br />
children 3 – 5 years of age. The Head Start class meets at the hours<br />
indicated below. Families enrolled in Head Start must also enroll in<br />
the Family Care Center for a minimum of 3 hours per week.<br />
The center is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood<br />
Programs, licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services,<br />
and accepts child care subsidy from the Department of Economic<br />
Security.<br />
Registration occurs the second week of November for the Spring<br />
Semester and the second week of April for the Fall semester. The<br />
center is closed during college breaks and summer.<br />

The Counseling Department is located on the upper level of the<br />
Hannelly Center. Its primary purpose is to support your lifelong goals.<br />
It offers unique instruction and individual counseling to meet your<br />
academic, career, and personal development needs.<br />
Appointments are available for students who would like to meet with<br />
a counselor. Walk-ins are also welcome. Counselors can help in many<br />
ways, including:<br />

The Custom Training and Education (CTE) Division of <strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
was created to coordinate and deliver quality workforce development<br />
and continuing education programs to public and private sector<br />
businesses and their employees. Needs assessments are conducted<br />
to accurately customize program content and provide flexibility in<br />
delivery solutions. A variety of courses, workshops, and seminars are<br />
offered, all of which can be held at the site of your choice. CTE also<br />
serves the community at large by offering community and continuing<br />
education. CTE’s support from <strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>College</strong> means you get<br />
expert instruction from top-notch faculty -- at a fraction of the cost of<br />
other training specialists. Companies benefit from a motivated and<br />
empowered workforce through the knowledge and skills acquired in<br />
training programs customized to meet job-specific needs. Both credit<br />
