thorough knowledge of building codes and construction methods<br />
accompanied by good communication and judgement skills is<br />
emphasized throughout the program. A Certificate of Completion<br />
(CCL) is also available.<br />
Program Notes: Students must earn a grade of “C” or better in all<br />
courses required within the program. Students planning to transfer to<br />
a four-year college or university should contact the Industrial<br />
Technology faculty or the Advisement Center for specific information<br />

The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Building Safety and Construction<br />
Technology program is designed to prepare students for positions as<br />
building inspectors for local municipalities and construction companies.<br />
The building inspector’s work involves face-to-face relationships with<br />
building contractors, trades people, architects, engineers,<br />
homeowners, and other members of the general public. A thorough<br />
knowledge of building codes and construction methods accompanied<br />
by good communication and judgement skills is emphasized<br />
throughout the program. An Associate in Applied Science (AAS) is<br />
also available.<br />
