Family Development
Associate in Applied Science — AAS 3770

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Family Development
degree prepares students to work with families, identify needs, and
acquire resources that strengthen family functioning. The Family
Development Specialist assists the family to gain mastery and
control over important aspects of family functioning which include
skills in assisting and controlling needed resources, decision making,
problem solving, communication, parenting, and child development
education. This degree is designed to meet the needs of persons
interested in careers working with families in programs, agencies,
organizations, and resource centers that provide services to families.
A Certificate of Completion (CCL) is also available.
