Associate in Applied Science — AAS 3770<br />

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Family Development<br />

degree prepares students to work with families, identify needs, and<br />

acquire resources that strengthen family functioning. The Family<br />

Development Specialist assists the family to gain mastery and<br />

control over important aspects of family functioning which include<br />

skills in assisting and controlling needed resources, decision making,<br />

problem solving, communication, parenting, and child development<br />

education. This degree is designed to meet the needs of persons<br />

interested in careers working with families in programs, agencies,<br />

organizations, and resource centers that provide services to families.<br />

A Certificate of Completion (CCL) is also available.<br />
