CLSS 220. Latin Literature in<br />

Translation. (3)<br />

Three hours lecture.<br />

Prerequisites: ENGL 101 and 102.<br />

Study of masterpieces of Latin literature, including<br />

epic and other poetry, drama, historiography,<br />

satire and oratory.<br />

CLSS 460. Special Topics. (3)<br />

Three hours lecture.<br />

Study of various aspects of ancient Greek and<br />

Roman civilization. The topic will vary each<br />

time taught. May be taken twice for credit with<br />

different topics.<br />

COBE 150. Speaker Series. (1)<br />

Students are exposed to a variety of speakers<br />

at campus and off campus events. Topics cover<br />

a wide variety of issues pertaining to business<br />

practices and problem solving in a business/<br />

organizational environment. A grade of Pass or<br />

Fail is given.<br />

COBE 151. Service Learning. (1)<br />

Participation in a meaningful service project<br />

of benefit to the community. A grade of Pass or<br />

Fail is given.<br />

COBE 152. Environment, Ethics,<br />

and Governance. (1)<br />

Students are exposed to a variety of issues relating<br />

to ethical dilemmas in the workplace. Activities<br />

include attending speaking events and<br />

discussing current events pertaining to ethics. A<br />

grade of Pass or Fail is given.<br />

COED 260. Seminar in Career<br />

Development. (2)<br />

Instructs students in educational and occupational<br />

development and leads toward vocational<br />

maturity through presentations and discussions<br />

of varied topics, including current aspects of<br />

young adult development, educational and career<br />

awareness and decision-making.<br />

COED 270. Student-Athlete Career<br />

Education and Development Seminar. (2)<br />

Designed to provide student athletes with a career<br />

educational approach that will lead to increased<br />

understanding of career development,<br />

educational and career awareness, and career<br />

decision-making.<br />

COED 450. Instructing the First-Year<br />

Student. (2)<br />

A course which examines students throughout<br />

their first semester of higher education as<br />

they acclimate to the university environment<br />

by focusing on models of student development<br />

theory, personal management techniques, and<br />

methods of classroom instruction. This course<br />

will examine who first-semester students are,<br />

and what academic and personal issues they will<br />

confront during their transition to higher education.<br />

The course will instruct student leaders on<br />

various models of classroom management techniques<br />

to be used within the UNIV 100 classroom,<br />

and will develop mentoring skills through<br />

assessment of leadership abilities.<br />

COBE 190. Business Internship. (1-3)<br />

Prerequisite: Minimum 2.0 GPA and designation<br />

as a business major.<br />

Students are exposed to basic business practice<br />

through work assignments with a local or regional<br />

organization. The number of work hours,<br />

Prerequisite: Approval of department chair.<br />

This class is structured to expose students to a<br />

first supervised work experience that will help<br />

confirm their choice of major and potential<br />
