INST 489G. Study Abroad<br />
Practicum in Spain. (12-18)<br />
Language instruction.<br />
Prerequisites: Permission of the Spanish program<br />
director and the department chair is required.<br />
Available fall or spring. Open to all majors.<br />
This is an affiliate program whereby students participate<br />
in a directed program of travel study designed<br />
to augment a student’s knowledge of the<br />
language, culture and literature of Spain. Students<br />
will receive a minimum of 15 credit hours per week<br />
of formal language instruction in addition to being<br />
involved in a total immersion living situation. Permission<br />
by the department chair is required prior<br />
to enrollment. Affiliate programs allow students to<br />
maintain RU student status while abroad thus allowing<br />
them continued access to financial aid and<br />
future registration at RU. Students must complete<br />
an RU Study Abroad Registration and course Approval<br />
Form outlining courses to be taken and approved<br />
before leaving to study abroad. Grade values<br />
are pass/fail and the awarding of specific course<br />
credit is determined at the conclusion of the experience<br />
and when official transcripts are received by<br />
the Registrar’s Office.<br />

INST 489I. Study Abroad Practicum with the<br />
Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers,<br />
France. (Semester Exchange Program) (15)<br />
Prerequisite: Two years of undergraduate study.<br />
Available Spring semester, students receive 15<br />
credit hours and pay in-state tuition to <strong>Radford</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong>.<br />
A directed program of travel study designed to augment<br />
a student’s knowledge of the French language<br />
and culture. Students will receive a minimum of 15<br />

Maximum of 18 credit hours.<br />
Open to all majors, with a preference for<br />
advanced music majors. This is an exchange<br />
program that allows RU students to study at the<br />
<strong>University</strong> of Glasgow while paying RU tuition.<br />

Prerequisites: Consult director of the International<br />
Education.<br />
Open to all majors. This is an exchange program<br />
that allows RU students to study at the National<br />
Taiwan Normal <strong>University</strong> in China while paying<br />
RU tuition. Hours earned are treated as if completed<br />
at RU for both program completion purposes<br />
and financial aid. Students must complete an RU<br />
Study Abroad Registration and Course Approval<br />
Form outlining courses to be taken and approved<br />
before leaving to study abroad. Grade values are<br />
assigned as pass/fail and the awarding of specific<br />

subjects through selected universities. Affiliate<br />
programs allow students to maintain RU<br />
student status while abroad thus allowing them<br />

Form outlining courses to be taken and approved<br />
before leaving to study abroad. Grade values are<br />
