ff. browned, contemporary sheep, flat spine gilt in compartments,
covers all but detached, spine ends and corners worn, rubbed,
housed in a cloth drop-backed box, spine gilt, [Gumuchian 4907],

*** Scarce first English edition of “The Swiss Family Robinson’.
The first issue of the first edition was published in the same year in
two volumes. The present edition was printed from standing type
of the first edition with the second title cancelled, page numbers
and signatures changed to run continuously, and with some minor
rearrangement of setting.

with gilt arms and armour motifs and morocco labels, spine ends
