*** An attractive copy with a distinguished provenance of an<br />

‘important edition of the Greek anthology, which provided a much<br />

better text than any of its predecessors’ (Schreiber).<br />

capital spaces with guide-letters, &8 blank, early ink marginalia<br />

and numbering, upper quarter of title with paper repair (not<br />

affecting text recto or verso), 2 small holes to outer margin of A2,<br />

A2&3 with small hole to upper margin, repair to upper corner of<br />

L6, just touching a minor part of 2 letters, &7 (colophon f.) laid<br />

down and with a small hole affecting part of 2 letters, water-stained<br />

(browned in a few instances), causing fading to marginalia in most<br />

instances, late 17th / early 18th century red panelled morocco,<br />

gilt, rebacked, preserving original gilt backstrip in compartments<br />

with gilt lion heraldic motif at head (with a few splits and spine<br />

ends chipped, but still solid), corners a little worn,[Adams M689;<br />

Ahmanson-Murphy 47; Renouard, Des Alde, 30:7; Censimento<br />

16 CNCE 36108], 8vo, [Venice], [in aedibus Aldi], 1501.<br />
