Arthur P. Shanklin, vice-president of
Carrier Corp., was elected president of the
Air Conditioning and Refrigerating Machinery
Ass'n at the annual spring meeting.
Shanklin served the association the past
year as vice-president, a member of the
board of directors, the executive committee
and the general standards committee.
Shanklin joined the Carrier Corp. in 1922
and now heads the staff division of the
firm.
The Topflight Tape Co. has moved all
administrative, sales, order, accounting and
advertising departments to a new location
at 116 East Market St. in New York. The
company was formerly located in the Ruber
building.
Cole Products Corp. recently opened a
new divisional office at 223 East Detroit
St., Milwaukee, Wis., to serve Wisconsin
and Minnesota. The new divisional manager
is Ben Alberts, formerly president of
the Albert Wholesale Grocers, Inc. and
sales manager of the Selectric Sales Co.
Richard H. Olson, formerly vice-president
in charge of sales, was elected president
of the Electric Machinery Mfg. Co.
at the recent board of directors meeting.
He succeeds Walther H. Feldmann, who
resigned to assume the office of vicepresident
in charge of sales of Worthington
Pump and Machinery Corp.
Net sales of James Lees & Sons Co.,
carpet manufacturers, for the quarter
ending April 1, amounted to $15,911,896.
This was a 26 per cent increase over the
$12,630,816 net sales for the first quarter
of 1949.
Net profits of $1.48 per common share
were realized, after allowances for income
taxes and preferred shares dividend deductions.
This was a 21 per cent increase
over the first quarter of 1949 when profits
were $1.22 per common share.
The directors declared a quarterly dividend
of 35 cents per share on the outstanding
common stock of the company to
stockholders of record May 15, 1950.

Donald E. Hynd-
MAN has been appointed
manager of
Eastman Kodak's motion
picture film department,
Edward P.
Curtis, vice-president,
announced recently.
Hyndman replaces
Kenneth "M. Cunningham,
who relinquished
the post because
of ill health.
Cunningham will continue as assistant to
Curtis in the export sales of motion picture
film.
For the past four years Hyndman has
been manager of the East Coast division
of the motion picture film department •
with offices in New York City. He will now
make his headquarters in Rochester. E. M.
Stifle has been appointed to succeed him
as manager in New York.
