candy sales during hot weather
whose product they have grown
to trust and enjoy.
A recent survey of the field
made at the
Confectionery Exposition in New York's
Hotel Commodore revealed that many nationally
prominent confectioners are placing
new bars on the market with special
theatre sales appeal. The show was staged
concurrently with the Natienal Candy
Wholesalers' Ass'n. fifth annual convention.
Highlighting the new bars were;
Mars Coconut Bar, the new five cent
addition to the famous candy bars produced
by Mars, Inc. National newspaper advertising
and the Mars sponsored Howdy Doody
children's television show are now paving
licorice pastilles and other items exhibited
by Henry Heide, Inc.
Rockwood's Chocolate Wafers, in ten
cent window packages, although not introduced
at the show, were outstanding among
the bars and package goods especially
suitable for theatre sales. Supported by
current national advertising, this popular
assortment offered by Rockwood & Co. includes
mint wafers, rum wafers and nonpareils.
