New Wall Treatment

Such an application not only creates an
atmosphere of warmth, comfort and luxury,
but also provides a sound-absorptive
acoustical effect. Since patrons cannot
easily mark on such a surface, it is expected
to reduce wall maintenance costs

An unusual caryetuig installation, on
walls as well as floors, is shown in the
picture of the Astor Theatre lobby in New
York, above. Possibly the first use of this
kind, walls of the Astor lobby are covered
with cardinal red Embassy carpeting

To Manufacture Screens
Laurel E. Cooley, for the past five years
vice-president and treasurer of Da-Lite
Screen Co., has recently resigned his position
to start a screen manufacturing
company on the west coast to be known
as the Pola-Ray Pi-ojection Screen Corp.
The firm will specialize in the production
of seamless silver and white theatre
frame-type screens and seamless silver
sheets suitable for three dimensional projection.
The plant for the new company
will be in the vicinity of Los Angeles and
will be in operation by the end of the
summer.
Open House at New Plant
Doors of the new plant of the American
Desk Mfg. Co. opened officially recently
when company officials and personnel held
formal open house for theatre, church and
school men from all over the country. The
new plant is located at Temple, Tex.
