The Texas Aquaculture Association is pleased to announce <strong>the</strong><br />

availability of <strong>the</strong> Texas I~land Aquaculture Handbook. This<br />

handbook was orig<strong>in</strong>ally. prepared by <strong>the</strong> Texas Agricultural<br />

Extension Service <strong>for</strong> use by County Extension Agents <strong>in</strong> our<br />

State. sufficient copies were pr<strong>in</strong>ted to distribute to <strong>the</strong>se<br />

agents. Many people have asked how to receive copies of this<br />

very <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mative handbook cover<strong>in</strong>g all aspects of <strong>in</strong>land<br />

aquaculture. With this <strong>in</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d, we have pr<strong>in</strong>ted copies of this<br />

handbook <strong>for</strong> sale to <strong>in</strong>terested aquaculturists, <strong>in</strong>vestors, lake<br />

managers, state and federal biologists.<br />

Included <strong>in</strong> this manual are sections on catfish (8 fact<br />

sheets), crawfish (5 fact sheets), sport and <strong>for</strong>age fish (11 fact<br />

sheets), and from one to ten fact sheets on such topics as<br />

tilapia, pond design and construction, pond management, water<br />

quality, wate~ use and conservation, parasites and diseases, food<br />

and nutrition, pest management, transport and handl<strong>in</strong>g, etc. with<br />

over 20 sections <strong>in</strong> all. Every aquaculturist that has seen an<br />

advance copy of this publication <strong>in</strong>dicates that this is a "must"<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir shelf.<br />
