Greenhouse Assumptions<br />

LAND COST: Land cost estimations are based on known prices<br />

of exist<strong>in</strong>g and likely possible locations. Commercial real estate<br />

brokers were contacted <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> selected locations. given a brief<br />

explanation of <strong>the</strong> study. and asked to estimate a price <strong>for</strong> a ten-acre<br />

plot of land suitable <strong>for</strong> commercial greenhouse operations.<br />

ROSE PL4u"lTS PER ACRE: The figure given <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> number of<br />

rose plants per acre is based upon averages cited by various<br />

experienced growers.<br />
