Academic Relationships<br />
UMUC is dedicated to the fundamental tenets <strong>of</strong> collaboration<br />
and cooperation with other educational institutions, both public<br />
and private, and actively seeks partnerships with other institutions<br />
to benefit <strong>Maryland</strong> citizens.<br />
In support <strong>of</strong> the university’s mission to extend access to educational<br />
opportunities, the Graduate School has established various<br />
partnerships with the following academic and government<br />
institutions:<br />
Capitol <strong>College</strong><br />
UMUC and Capitol <strong>College</strong> have an academic agreement to<br />
allow students from either school to transfer one preapproved<br />
course into his or her electronic commerce degree program.<br />
Students in UMUC’s Master <strong>of</strong> Science in e-commerce program<br />
may transfer one course from the Capitol <strong>College</strong> Master <strong>of</strong><br />
Science in electronic commerce management program to<br />
UMUC as an elective, and vice-versa. More information on this<br />
arrangement may be obtained from the program director at<br />

Military Relationships<br />
UMUC also has established special relationships with a number<br />
<strong>of</strong> the military’s institutions <strong>of</strong> higher education:<br />
■ Air War <strong>College</strong> (for the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in management,<br />
air and space strategic studies track)<br />
■ Army Signal Center (for the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in computer<br />
systems management, the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in information<br />
technology, and the Master <strong>of</strong> S<strong>of</strong>tware Engineering)<br />
■ Army Management Staff <strong>College</strong> (for the Master <strong>of</strong> Science<br />
in management, army sustaining base management track)<br />
■ Joint Forces Staff <strong>College</strong> (for the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in<br />
management, joint military strategy, planning, and decision<br />
making track)<br />
■ National Defense <strong>University</strong> Information Resources<br />
Management <strong>College</strong> (for the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in computer<br />
systems management and the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in telecommunications<br />

Oldenburg <strong>University</strong><br />
The Master <strong>of</strong> Distance Education degree is <strong>of</strong>fered in partnership<br />
with Carl von Ossietzky <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Oldenburg,<br />
Germany, a leading institution with extensive experience in<br />
distance education. Oldenburg <strong>University</strong> is contributing a certificate<br />
and several courses to this program, all <strong>of</strong> which earn<br />
full credit in the master’s degree program. Oldenburg’s participation<br />
helps to ensure that the program has a broad global<br />
perspective that is critical for distance educators today.<br />
