Students in this situation may not switch to the two-course<br />

option.<br />

Those students who choose option 1 must develop and gain<br />

approval <strong>of</strong> a problem statement and prospectus, carry out the<br />

project, and present a final report. Students report the results <strong>of</strong><br />

their efforts in written and oral form. The project may be developed<br />

in cooperation with a current employer or with some<br />

other organization <strong>of</strong> the student’s choice, provided there is no<br />

conflict <strong>of</strong> interest. The project must be conducted under the<br />

direction <strong>of</strong> a faculty advisor in cooperation with an on-site<br />

project supervisor.<br />

All students entering the management project phase <strong>of</strong> their<br />

program must meet with their faculty advisors. The time limit<br />

for completing all degree requirements (detailed on p. 28) is<br />

strictly enforced.<br />

Option 2—Two-Course Option<br />

Students may choose to expand their knowledge in their chosen<br />

fields by enrolling in two additional courses that complement<br />

their degree or career objectives. Course selections are identified<br />

according to program; however, students should nonetheless<br />

obtain prior approval <strong>of</strong> the two-course selection from the program<br />

director.<br />

Most management project courses for the individual disciplines<br />

are designated 690. (When taken for a second semester, the<br />
