Results: In this multicenter trial we found differences <strong>of</strong> the<br />
subgroups <strong>of</strong> patients enrolled in private practice or university<br />
ambulance. Patients treated in private practices are significantly<br />
better educated, are more <strong>of</strong>ten employed, have less<br />
likely advanced HIV disease and more CD4 cells. These findings<br />
emphasize the importance <strong>of</strong> multicenter studies, which<br />
involve different treatment settings for representative results.<br />
