type of enterprises and as a m<strong>on</strong>i<strong>to</strong>ring instrument. They do not provide support <strong>to</strong> the<br />

enterprises’ activities.<br />

Finally, a compendium of good practice can be seen as an additi<strong>on</strong>al <strong>to</strong>ol <strong>to</strong> illustrate<br />

the practice of <strong>gender</strong> equality measures. As it is normally not based <strong>on</strong> a ”critical”<br />

assessment it is a descriptive way of showing possible ways of promoting <strong>gender</strong><br />

equality at the workplace without initiating further processes in the involved <strong>companies</strong>.<br />

Nevertheless, it can motivate other enterprises <strong>to</strong> design and implement measures <strong>to</strong><br />

<strong>promote</strong> <strong>gender</strong> equality.<br />
