campus. <strong>Sorority</strong> housing consists <strong>of</strong> chapter suites in a University owned facility.<br />
University <strong>of</strong> Dayton (UD)<br />
The third campus is the University <strong>of</strong> Dayton located in Dayton, Ohio. UD is a private,<br />
Catholic, <strong>Mari</strong>anist institution founded in 1850. The total enrollment is approximately 6,400. The<br />
academic requirements are very competitive and many <strong>of</strong> the students come from all over the<br />
country. Many <strong>of</strong> the women who are in sororities are also involved in many other organizations<br />
on campus. Seven NPC chapters make up approximately 18% <strong>of</strong> the student population and<br />
average approximately 70 members per chapter. Sororities began at UD in 1933, but have only<br />
been recognized by the University since 1967. The sororities have houses that are owned by the<br />
University and are rented or leased by the organizations. The campus is very academic focused<br />
and most <strong>of</strong> the students complete their degrees in four years.<br />
University <strong>of</strong> Southern Mississippi (USM)<br />
The fourth campus is the University <strong>of</strong> Southern Mississippi located in Hattiesburg,<br />
Mississippi. USM is a public institution with an enrollment <strong>of</strong> approximately 13,000 students.<br />
Founded in 1910, many <strong>of</strong> the students who attend USM are from Mississippi and the<br />
surrounding states. The eight NPC chapters on campus average approximately 85 members per<br />
chapter. Each chapter has a chapter suite in a residence hall referred to as “Panhellenic.” The<br />
sorority community at USM was founded in 1949.<br />
University <strong>of</strong> South Alabama (USA)<br />
The fifth campus is the University <strong>of</strong> South Alabama located in Mobile, Alabama. USA is<br />
a public institution that was founded in 1963 with an enrollment <strong>of</strong> approximately 12,000<br />
students. Being located in Mobile, Alabama gives USA a certain kind <strong>of</strong> charm. The sorority<br />
