HOW TO GET A GRIP ON YOUR LIFE…
23.40 is whole training “thing” is a good fortune only available to those who
have the health, time and opportunity to do it.
23.41 Never bemoan the discipline that must accompany serious training. Never
bemoan the discipline that must be applied to your diet and other components
of recovery. To have the opportunity to apply all of this discipline is a
great blessing.
23.42 You will not be able to train forever. Eventually you will not be able to apply
dedication and determination to anything, let alone your training, diet and
recovery. So make the absolute most of the present!
23.43 When you get the jitters prior to a rigorous workout, change the jitters into
excitement—excitement over an opportunity to do something that is a
privilege, and a reflection of your good health and well-being.
23.44 Never mind that you are not the champion you may have initially wanted to
be. What matters is that you do your best to improve on where you are now.
To improve a notch at your next workout, and at the following workout, and
to keep doing that again and again, is the best you can do.
23.45 When you stumble along the way, take it in your stride but resolve to do better
next time. Training is too great a privilege to get upset over a component
that did not go exactly as planned.
23.46 Live your life one day at a time, doing your absolute best to get each day
right, and while relishing all the single units of a lifetime of training. at is
the route to achieving your own physical excellence and enjoying the journey
there.
Control your destiny
23.47 Live for the moment, and do not harp on about what you should have been
doing in former years. No matter how many mistakes you have made, no
matter how much training time you have wasted, and no matter how much
you wish you could turn the clock back, what is done is done.
23.48 Today is the start of the rest of your life. You will never be as young as you
are now. Learn from your mistakes and those of others, get in charge of your
own destiny, and make the most of the now—make each day count. Get
organized, get motivated, get working, and then get gaining.
