The Chair declared the amendments proposed by the House<br />
were concurred in. Senator Cain moved to reconsider the vote by<br />
which the amendments were concurred in and laid the motion on the<br />
table.<br />
Rules Suspended<br />
Senator Cain asked for and obtained a suspension of the rules for<br />
the purpose of taking up at this time.<br />
Introduction of Senate Resolutions<br />
Senator Bajoie asked for and obtained a suspension of the rules<br />
for the purpose of introducing and reading the following Senate<br />
Resolutions a first and second time and acting upon them as follows:<br />

A RESOLUTION<br />
To urge and request the Senate Committee on Commerce, Consumer<br />
Protection, and International Affairs to study the feasibility of<br />
requiring all telephone systems to provide enhanced 911 service.<br />
On motion of Senator Jackson, the resolution was read by title<br />
and adopted.<br />

<strong>SENATE</strong> RESOLUTION NO. 179—<br />

A RESOLUTION<br />
To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Senate upon<br />
the death of Alex M. Haysbert, Sr., retired athletic equipment<br />
manager for Southern University.<br />
On motion of Senator Fields, the resolution was read by title and<br />
adopted.<br />

To express the condolences of the Senate to the family of Alex M.<br />
Haysbert, Sr.<br />
On motion of Senator Holden, the resolution was read by title<br />

BY SENATOR BAJOIE<br />
A RESOLUTION<br />
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of <strong>Louisiana</strong> that a<br />
committee of five be appointed by the President of the Senate<br />
to serve with a like committee from the House of<br />
Representatives to notify the Governor that the Legislature of<br />
the State of <strong>Louisiana</strong> has completed its labors and is now ready<br />
to adjourn sine die.<br />
On motion of Senator Bajoie, the resolution was read by title<br />
and adopted.<br />
In compliance with the resolution the President of the Senate<br />
appointed the following committee: Senators Bajoie, Hainkel,<br />
Heitmeier, McPherson and Mount.<br />

A RESOLUTION<br />
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of <strong>Louisiana</strong> that a<br />
committee of five be appointed by the President of the Senate<br />
to notify the House of Representatives that the Senate has<br />
completed its labors and is now ready to adjourn sine die.<br />
On motion of Senator Bajoie, the resolution was read by title<br />
and adopted.<br />
In compliance with the resolution the President of the Senate<br />
appointed the following committee: Senators Adley, Boasso, Cain,<br />
Fontenot and Nevers.<br />
Reports of Committees<br />
The committee to notify the Governor that the Senate had<br />
completed its labors and was ready to adjourn sine die returned and<br />
reported it had performed that duty. The President of the Senate<br />
thanked the Committee and discharged it.<br />
