A JOINT RESOLUTION<br />

Proposing to add Article VII, Section 10.12 of the Constitution of<br />

<strong>Louisiana</strong>, relative to providing funds for the support of<br />

<strong>Louisiana</strong> farmers and fishermen; to establish the Agricultural<br />

and Seafood Products Support Fund as a special fund in the<br />

state treasury; to provide for sources of revenue, and for deposit<br />

and uses of monies in the fund; to authorize the legislature by<br />

law to provide for programs of assistance to <strong>Louisiana</strong> farmers<br />

and fishermen; to specify an election for submission of the<br />

proposition to electors and provide a ballot proposition; and to<br />

provide for related matters.<br />

To urge and request the legislative auditor to compile a report on the<br />

cost of operating the district court system in <strong>Louisiana</strong> for<br />

presentation to the legislature prior to the 2005 Regular Session;<br />

to request assistance of various state and local governmental<br />

entities which perform various district court functions or<br />

provide financial support of the court system; and to report to<br />

the legislature any limitations imposed on the compilation of<br />

timely, relevant, and accurate information on the operations of<br />

the district court system.<br />

financial viability and competitiveness of the tourism industry<br />

on the New Orleans Metropolitan Area and throughout the<br />

state.<br />
