1. That the Senate Committee Amendments proposed by the<br />
Senate Committee on Health and Welfare and adopted by the<br />
Senate on June 16, 2004, be adopted.<br />
2. That the following amendments to the engrossed bill be adopted:<br />
Senator Chaisson asked for and obtained a suspension of the<br />
rules for the purpose of considering the Conference Committee<br />
Report. On motion of Senator Chaisson, a vote was taken on the<br />
adoption of the report.<br />

The Chair declared the Senate failed to adopt the Conference<br />
Committee Report. Senator Chaisson moved to reconsider the vote<br />
by which the report failed to be adopted and laid the motion on the<br />
table.<br />
CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT<br />
House Bill No. 1327 By Representative Lancaster<br />
May 21, 2004<br />
To the Honorable Speaker and Members of the House of<br />
Representatives and the Honorable President and Members of the<br />
Senate.<br />
Ladies and Gentlemen:<br />
We, the conferees appointed to confer over the disagreement<br />
between the two houses concerning House Bill No. 1327 by<br />
Representative Lancaster, recommend the following concerning the<br />
engrossed bill:<br />
AMENDMENT NO. 1<br />
On page 1, line 10, after "be by" delete the remainder of the line and<br />
delete lines 11 and 12 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof:<br />
"consent obtained pursuant to any of the following methods:<br />
(1) By a document signed by the person authorized, in the<br />
presence of two witnesses.<br />
(2) By indication on a driver's license, personal identification<br />
card, or other personal identification document issued by any federal,<br />
state, or local governmental authority, that the donor has identified<br />
himself as an anatomical donor.<br />
(3) Verbally, by telephone, by the person authorized, provided<br />
that the conversation is recorded and a record of such conversation is<br />
maintained.<br />
(4) Verbally, when expressed by the person authorized, when<br />
expressed or given before two witnesses.<br />
(5) Verbally, by telephone, by the person authorized, provided<br />
the conversation is witnessed.<br />
(6) Any other method provided by law."<br />
