CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT<br />
Senate Bill No. 831 by Senator Ellington<br />
June 20, 2004<br />
To the Honorable President and Members of the Senate and to<br />
the Honorable Speaker and Members of the House of<br />
Representatives:<br />
We, the conferees appointed to confer over the disagreement<br />
between the two houses concerning Senate Bill No. 831 by Senator<br />
Ellington recommend the following concerning the Engrossed bill:<br />
1. That the House Floor Amendment No. 1 proposed by<br />
Representative Quezaire and adopted by the House of<br />
Representatives on June 14, 2004 be adopted.<br />
2. That the House Floor Amendment No. 2 proposed by<br />
Representative Quezaire and adopted by the House of<br />
Representatives on June 14, 2004 be rejected.<br />
3. That the House Committee Amendment Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and<br />
6 proposed by the House Committee on Natural Resources and<br />
adopted by the House of Representatives on June 1, 2004 be<br />
adopted.<br />
4. That the following amendments to the engrossed bill be adopted:<br />
AMENDMENT NO. 1<br />
On page 4, between lines 14 and 15 insert as follows:<br />
"Section 7. The secretary of the Department of Transportation<br />
and Development, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the<br />
contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer,<br />
assign, and deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state<br />
may have to the following described property to the Town of<br />
Livingston:<br />
Property containing 2.576 acres fronting 440 feet on the east<br />
side of <strong>Louisiana</strong> Highway 63 by a depth of 255 feet consisting of all<br />
of lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, north half of lot 11, south 120 feet of lots 32,<br />
33, 34 and north 140 feet of lots 15, 16 and 17, Square 18, East Side<br />
Subdivision, Town of Livingston, <strong>Louisiana</strong>.<br />
Section 8. The secretary of the Department of Transportation<br />
and Development, on behalf of the state of <strong>Louisiana</strong>, is hereby<br />
authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and<br />
stipulations and to execute such documents as necessary to properly<br />
effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, or delivery of title,<br />
excluding mineral rights, to the property described in Section (7)<br />
herein, and as more specifically described in any such agreements<br />
entered into and documents executed by and between the secretary of<br />
the Department of Transportation and Development and the Town<br />
AMENDMENT NO. 2<br />
On page 4, line 15, change "Section 6." to "Section 9."<br />

Senator Ellington asked for and obtained a suspension of the<br />
rules for the purpose of considering the Conference Committee<br />
Report. On motion of Senator Ellington, a vote was taken on the<br />
adoption of the report.<br />
