Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-­‐time stewards from representing part-­‐time<br />

employees and vice-­‐versa.<br />

6.10 Grievance Committee<br />

The Employer will recognize a Grievance Committee composed <strong>of</strong> the Chief Steward, Vice-­‐<br />

President, and not more than four (4) employees selected by the <strong>Union</strong> who have completed<br />

their probationary period.<br />

A general representative <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Union</strong> may be present at any meeting <strong>of</strong> the Committee. The<br />

purpose <strong>of</strong> the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective<br />

Agreement.<br />

The <strong>Union</strong> shall keep the Employer notified in writing <strong>of</strong> the names <strong>of</strong> the members <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date <strong>of</strong><br />

their respective appointments.<br />

A Committee member shall suffer no loss <strong>of</strong> earnings for time spent during their regular<br />

scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Employer up to, but not<br />

including arbitration.<br />

6.11 Bulletin Boards<br />

The Employer will provide a large bulletin board at each facility which will be available for<br />

posting <strong>of</strong> notices affecting employees.<br />

The employer may request to be furnished with copies <strong>of</strong> notices prior to their posting, and may<br />

require the union and any employees to refrain from posting any notices which it considers<br />

objectionable.<br />

ARTICLE 7 GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE<br />

7.01 Definition <strong>of</strong> Grievance<br />

For purposes <strong>of</strong> this Agreement, a grievance is defined as a difference arising between the<br />

parties relating to the interpretation, application, administration or alleged violation <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Agreement including any question as to whether a matter is arbitrable.<br />

7.02 <strong>Union</strong> Representation During Discipline and Grievance Procedure<br />

At the time <strong>of</strong> formal discipline is imposed or at any stage <strong>of</strong> the grievance procedure an<br />

employee shall have the right upon request to the presence <strong>of</strong> his/her steward. In the case <strong>of</strong><br />

suspension or discharge the Employer shall notify the employee <strong>of</strong> this right in advance.<br />
