26.04 Uniform and Safety Boots<br />

(a)<br />

Uniforms<br />

The Employer will provide uniforms to employees upon commencement <strong>of</strong> employment,<br />

and place orders for uniforms on or before March 1 st and September 1 st <strong>of</strong> each calendar<br />

year and will distributed the uniforms promptly upon receipt <strong>of</strong> same from the supplier<br />

The Employer will request sizes from the employees on or before February and August<br />

1 st <strong>of</strong> each calendar year. If the Employees do not submit their sizes on or before this<br />

date, the Employer will not be held responsible for delayed distribution <strong>of</strong> Uniforms or<br />

inaccurate orders. Where a change <strong>of</strong> supplier occurs, the Employer shall arrange for<br />

sample clothing to be available for employees to confirm the appropriate sizing.<br />

Costs <strong>of</strong> regularly maintaining, repairing and replacing the uniforms will be the<br />

responsibility <strong>of</strong> the Employer. The Employer will be responsible for the cost <strong>of</strong> initial<br />

cresting <strong>of</strong> uniforms and hemming <strong>of</strong> pants. Excessively soiled uniforms may be<br />

replaced or laundered at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the Employer.<br />

Issues relating to uniform pieces and style shall be the subject <strong>of</strong> Labour-­‐Management<br />

Committee meetings.<br />

Damaged uniforms can be exchanged when needed.<br />

Maternity uniforms will be provided to those employees who require them, by the<br />

Employer.<br />

(b)<br />

Safety Footwear<br />

The Employer will provide all employees up to $150.00 for the purchase <strong>of</strong> approved<br />

safety footwear no more than once per twelve (12) months upon presentation <strong>of</strong> pro<strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> purchase, commencing January 1, 2011.<br />

ARTICLE 27 JOB CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENTATION<br />

27.01 Job Classification<br />

(a)<br />

When a new classification (which is covered by the terms <strong>of</strong> this <strong>collective</strong> <strong>agreement</strong>) is<br />

established by the Employer, the Employer shall determine the rate <strong>of</strong> pay for such new<br />

classification and notify the <strong>Union</strong> <strong>of</strong> the same. If the <strong>Union</strong> challenges the rate, it shall<br />

have the right to request a meeting with the Employer to endeavour to negotiate a<br />

mutually satisfactory rate. Such request will be made within ten (10) calendar days after<br />

the receipt <strong>of</strong> notice from the Employer <strong>of</strong> such new occupational classification and rate.<br />

Any change mutually agreed to resulting from such meeting shall be retroactive to the<br />

date that notice <strong>of</strong> the new rate was given by the Employer.<br />
